Description
What is going on in the world of student services globally? These themes have been consistent over the past few years, with pressures continuing to mount: tuition increases, attention on value for the dollar as measured by economic success of graduates, student mobility, and graduation and retention. 2011 saw riots over tuition increases in Chile, the UK, and the U.S. Governments are stepping in to regulate the programs and curricula of institutions worldwide, and students are becoming increasingly selective about the way in which they are spending their money. How will the educational institutions around the world respond? They must provide increased decision support and guidance in the program and course selection processes, they must inject avenues for degree flexibility, and they must ensure transferability of coursework or achievement. We’ve already begun to see the proliferation of degree completion programs. Schools in the U.S. are working to improve advisement processes such that full-time students graduate in 4 years. This session will be a panel discussion including four customers working with Datatel+SGHE as development partners on the Banner 9 registration project. The customers will talk about their thoughts on the shifting models for student registration and what they are doing today and thinking about how they may change for their schools in the future.
