Description
Retention research is replete with information about student characteristics that are predictive of student success and student attrition. Every institution should know what success looks like in its students: Who graduates? What were their characteristics coming in, and how were they engaged with their academics and campus life? What were likely factors that influenced their success?
Even with allowing for individual differences, careful analysis of what is known about an individual student and how her/his characteristics fit with those of successful students can result in opportunities for data-fed decisions about residential placement, academic interventions, campus activities, even campus employment that could make a current student your future alumnae. This session will explore ways in which to use your technology and data to develop success profile(s) for your campus, and then use the profile(s) to create opportunities for connection and engagement specific to individual student profiles, guiding them to degree completion and success.
