Description
Mobile Connection ships with some great m-Apps, and you will likely find more in the Community Source Code Repository. But when you need functionality that just doesn't exist, you can always build it yourself!
At Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, that's just what we did. Our Registrar wanted to provide students with a quick and easy way to check their graduation status. So we designed and built our first m-App called GradStatus. Immediately following that, we built an m-App for active employees to check their vacation balance. With each m-App, the process got quicker and smoother.
A developer from RPI will share every step of his experience building these two m-Apps. Hell walk us through the wireframe, to the Grails web service, to the HTML & CSS front end, and even testing. So bring your inner geek, because there will be CODE!
Lastly, we'll discuss the Community Source Code Repository and how to share your locally built m-Apps with other institutions.
