Description
This presentation will show how Old Dominion University uses the Operational Data Storage (ODS) and Cognos Business Intelligence tools to measure efficiency and effectiveness of the purchase order to payment process. The presentation will review process systems analysis in general, the use of performance measures and specifically how ODS is used to analyze system performance, including the use of dashboards, reports and performance measures. Specific examples of how reports are used to identify problems, re-engineer process, and develop policies, procedures, and training will be discussed.
The ultimate goal of system analysis using ODS reporting is to

o identify problem areas within the system and focus on correcting them via employee training, improved processes, process re-engineering, and system enhancements
