Organizations often implement new technology because they seek to acquire new capabilities, or to become more proficient or effective in their operations. But just as installing Word on someone's laptop will not turn them into a prize-winning novelist, simply deploying software is unlikely to produce significant performance improvements in an organization if the organization itself does not make adjustments. How people execute processes, what skills they need, what support structures must be in place, how work is allocated, and how performance is measured all merit review and revision to ensure that the new technology makes a positive difference in terms of organizational effectiveness. This session will discuss approaches SunGard Higher Education works with customers to assess their specific challenges and to define approaches to ensure that their organization is prepared to embrace and benefit from new technology.
