Automating processes is always a challenge, especially when it comes to the long standing processes. In the summer of 2010, Delta State University made the decision to automate both the application for graduation and move their manual commencement process into the Banner system. This effort utilized the SunGard Higher Education consulting teams to guide the institution through a Business Process Automation effort to achieve this objective. Join this session to learn how Delta State worked closely with the consulting team to automate their manual processes to achieve efficiencies, reduce workload on a busy Registrars office, and ultimately improve the processing time for the entire commencement process to 1/10 of the time of the previous process. Student feedback has been very positive, as they now have the information and resources at their fingertips to apply for graduation and proceed through the entire commencement process, with the exception of the ceremony, online.
