Ever wanted to implement a full blown Fixed Asset process using all the delivered functionality of Banner? This collaborative presentation led by SunGard Finance consultant Rick Gerry, with assistance from Old Dominion University's Accounting Manager, Donna Bean. Rick & Donna's presentation will walk you through the many surprises (and pitfalls) of migrating a Fixed Asset data set from home grown forms to baseline Banner. Learn about the Universitys unique decision to turn over the responsibility for carrying out a 100% physical inventory to a group of its most talented students. The summer inventory not only physically located the assets, but also took pictures of every asset. The presenters will provide a broad overview of the project management process employed by the University to advance this project. Learn how the ODU Team, with support from SunGard, tackled every obstacle from inconsistent building location codes to excel generated depreciation tables. The Team will also demonstrate workflows designed to allow asset owners to facilitate the transfer and disposal of assets and the use of BDMS to store the asset images.
