Historically, parking space availability has not kept pace with the increasing campus populations. Parking permits and campus citations are two tools used to offset the growing costs of campus parking. A parking software solution that directly integrates with Banner Digital Campus is another tool that can provide a substantial benefit to both student and administrator. An integrated system eliminates the need for manual ticket and permit processing by posting permit and ticket fees to a students account in real time. Payments made in person at the parking office, bursar's office, or on line and will be immediately credited to a students account, eliminating the need for additional communication between the parking office and Banner. In addition, the costs of collecting on outstanding fines and fees can be significantly reduced by using one billing system, instead of separate parking and student account billing.
This session will provide specific suggestions on parking management efficiency, the cost benefits of an integrated solution and an overview of the real-time bi-directional integration developed by Cardinal Tracking and the SunGard Higher Education Integration team.
