In this session attendees will learn how Colorado College uses the Banner Budget Development process (Banner 8.3) for Operational and Personnel Budget Development. We will explore a wide variety of Banner processes and forms which can be used to extract, model and post a new fiscal year budget to the Operating Ledger. We will also share the Colorado College process map for Budget Development. The map encompasses the six months of Budget Development work done from January to July and provides a shortcut guide to the Banner forms and processes needed to roll out a new fiscal year budget. The interaction between the Budget, Human Resources and Payroll departments frame a triangle of work which demonstrates the interconnectedness of the Banner Finance and HR modules. The process map illustrates how we navigate the waters and prevent disastrous outcomes through planning and coordinated teamwork. The presentation is intended for anyone involved in the development of Personnel and/or Operating budgets.
