Description
Have you developed code to solve a functional issue in Banner and want to submit it to Community Source for inclusion in baseline? Or maybe you want to pick up some pointers on how to develop code that can pass a SunGard code review. Many lessons were learned during the collaborative technical development of Proxy Access. This session will explore the Thinking, Techniques and Tools used to create code destined for baseline. The Proxy Access code is loosely based on the Rose-Hulman Web for Parent custom application. In the largest collaborative Community Source project to date, a team of core developers from SunGard, Rose-Hulman, Illinois, Kent State and Seton Hall were tasked with taking the concept of Web for Parent and creating a more powerful, secure and generalized system suitable for the Banner General baseline. Each core member brought unique resources to the project. This session will discuss how to identify and recruit a successful team, the importance of clear and concise communication in the collaborative development of functional specifications, technical specifications and testing plans, and the use of technical standards, configuration parameters and user interface elements consistent with existing baseline functionality.
