Banner 9 can support any language and already supports 5 out of the box. Change your browser language preference to Spanish and the User Interface will be Spanish. Change it to French and the UI will be French. However, the data you see will not change, the Course Description is still the same. In other words, the Banner database design is uni-lingual.

Here we want to present an architecture we plan to introduce in Banner 9 to add multi-lingual support for the data. When implemented, a different text can be stored and retrieved for each language (locale). The Course Description would change to Spanish together with the UI labels - provided the administrator has entered a Spanish Course Description.
