During 2011 a transformation took place in the Advancement office at the University of Denver. The division moved from a low-hanging fruit fundraising office to one which needed to develop a major gift pipeline taking us to the end of the Ascend Campaign in 2014 and beyond. To do so we updated and re-implemented a Prospect Management System for all Major Gift Officers. In addition, we attempted to provide all tools necessary for fundraising success through the Banner Self-Service system. This presentation, given by DUs Director of Research and Prospect Management, is targeted to Advancement Services, Advancement IT, and any other users of the Advancement Module in Banner. It will focus on the Self-Service tools that were improved and expanded during this process as well as their counterpart forms, fields, and tables. An overview of the Prospect Management Goals and Guidelines at DU will be presented as well as a sample of challenges and solutions occurring during the process.
