Western Washington University successfully implemented and replaced our highly manual Grant process (pre-award and post-award) with the Banner integrated Grants Management system in August 2011. This module allowed us to automate most of our key processes and make grant data and reports more accessible to the campus community, including senior administration, faculty and financial services. This presentation will cover how the team started with current process analysis, engaged with SunGard consultant in testing Banner features from entering a proposal to turning it into a Grant, to running deferred grant process and final billing. We will also cover the conversion process and share our lessons learned in this aspect.
