Description
In the spring of 2008 the Division of Academic Outreach and Continuing Education (AOCE) at Mississippi State University adopted Camtasia as our primary lecture capture software for distance education courses. In this session we will take a look back to our initial adoption to where we are today. A look at best practices for use, Advantages and Disadvantages, and file formats changes will be discussed. Over a span of 2 years we have upgraded from version 4.0 to 7.0, the quick transitions to new upgrades were a challenge and adjustment for faculty. The session will discuss our discoveries in how our faculty members use the program, their hesitations, expectations, and frustrations. Student outlook of online lecturing and expectations using lecture capture will be addressed. This presentation is intended for distance education providers, trainers, faculty, and any learner interested in lecture capture software and how it affected our university.
