Join Wake Forest University as we take a technical journey into the world of Groovy and Grails to show how we got our hands dirty with a mobile web application using the technology in Banner 9.

Using the Banner 9 tools, we have developed an application to collect prospect information from interested high school students who may be using a mobile phone, a tablet, or a regular computer to enter the data. The goals of this presentation are to showcase what can be done with the toolset that Sungard is using in Banner 9 and to demonstrate the cross-platform nature of the these tools. We will take an in-depth look at the code to give you a better understanding of Groovy and Grails and explain how jQuery mobile was used to present the application on mobile devices. Attendees with some exposure to object-oriented programming will get the most from this presentation, but interested observers are welcome!
