Description
In order to reduce cost and effort in faculty hiring, Saint Louis University needed a robust and flexible way to electronically deliver contracts to faculty and administrators. See how Saint Louis University built this tool set combining Banner Self-Service, BDMS, and Workflow, allowing for a completely paperless flow from contract initiation to acceptance. The electronic contract system allows for increased security, multi-level approval paths, the ability to upload supporting documentation to contracts (such as CVs and transcripts), and provides comprehensive reporting and communication tools. A team of functional and technical subject matter experts collaborated to build a system framework that can be easily modified to facilitate any type of contract approval. For example, Saint Louis University is using the same set of products to automate faculty leave requests and graduate assistantship contracts.
Since implementation, more than 3,000 contracts have gone from initiation, through the approval process, ultimately to contract acceptance—all without a single piece of paper! Even more impressive, Saint Louis University has reduced processing time by 70% and has already saved over $23,000.
This presentation is also applicable for those in Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and both technical and functional users of Workflow and the Banner Document Management Suite.
