Make it easy to track attendance with the absence tracking tool. Using existing Sungard features, we implemented a tracking tool quickly to meet federal mandates. Conveniently added to the Faculty Class Summary List self service page, our faculty can quickly log attendance by monitoring absences. These absences are recorded and the workflow tool with pl/sql coding is used to process the absences that require emails or updates in the Banner database. As an example friendly reminders are sent to students, advisers and faculty at key frequency dates to encourage attendance. At final warning stages, administrative offices are notified from the workflow. Some of the message recipients and text are determined through coding. This allows for changes to happen without bringing down the workflow. Learn how our workflow tool even assists the registrar by posting grades when a student has missed 25% of the course.
