Two of the most critical tables for the ideal working of HR and Payroll are the Employee Class Rule Form (PTRECLS) and the Benefit/Deduction Rule Form (PTRBDCA). If a complete analysis is done on each of these before entering any data, you will be on your way to a smoothly running system. And, your understanding of Banner HR/Payroll will be greatly enhanced! PTRECLS is the cornerstone of the HR/payroll module of Banner and there is a set of decisions that need to be made before entering any data into Banner HR/payroll. This presentation will flowchart the paths that are created every time a question about employees is asked and answered--e.g., How are employees paid; hourly or salaried?--and how to reflect that on PTRECLS.
Additionally, this session will discuss what needs to be considered before entering a new benefit/deduction on PTRBDCA or if changing an existing code on PTRBDCA. Each option and field will be discussed and explained in relation to how it impacts Payroll. Led by Drexel University, this session is for any new customer or any current customer looking to revamp your employee classes and/or benefit/deduction codes!
