Duquesne University, an institution with over 10,000 undergraduate, graduate, law and pharmacy students, collected students FERPA choices on paper until we implemented an electronic solution in the Fall 2010 term. Our search for existing, relevant Banner functionality led us to Banner Survey, which we were able to use with minimal and low-maintenance customization. In this session, we will discuss why we chose this solution, go over the forms involved, and share the minor customizations we made to make this work. This session would benefit those institutions looking for a place to store FERPA information and those interested in learning more about how Banner Survey works.
