Term-Based Detail Codes are not new to Banner, but Aid Year-Based Detail Codes are. This feature came out in AR 8.3. This presentation will walk the end-user through the differences in general terms between Term-Based Detail Codes and Aid Year-Based Detail Codes (what do they mean at a high level). The session will also look at the differences and similarities in the Banner configuration. Real life scenarios will be used. Actual configuration of Term-Based and Aid Year-Based codes will be presented. Best practices will be discussed in regards to when to use Term-Based accounting and when to use Aid Year-Based accounting. This is geared toward our U.S. clients who use Aid Year extensively, but can also be a beneficial presentation to Non-U.S. clients who want to use Term-Based Detail Codes and need to know the differences between that and Aid Year-Based Codes.
