Between April and August of 2009 and 2010, gifted and talented students from fourth through twelfth grade, from all parts of the country and even overseas, submitted their most original writing to the Torrance Legacy Creative Writing Awards. Two facilitators will share their experiences as participants and sponsors. The project is designed to recognize and support exceptional young writers throughout the field. This session will explore writing in light of Torrances pioneer research in creativity and demonstrate strategies teachers can use to inspire and support creative composition in their own classrooms.
