Description
Planning professional development requires careful attention to key goals and standards, the needs of educators in the local context, and research-based features of effective professional learning opportunities. Given the limited time often allocated to professional development in gifted education, careful planning is especially important. This session shares a framework of key criteria to consider in planning and evaluating professional development across a variety of formats. Participants will apply evaluation criteria to video clips from professional development sessions and consider ways to use the framework in planning professional development activities relevant to their own local contexts.
