Description
Assessment of gifted students must go well beyond the summative assessments of standardized test scores and report card grades. Using formative assessment is an excellent way to show continual progress and encourages extensions in the learning process. In this session, learn how to develop assessment criteria appropriate for gifted middle school students. Discover how to construct rubrics with extensions that assess critical and creative thinking. Learn how to design product and process criteria cards. With these tools, formative self assessments, peer assessments and teacher assessments can become the necessary integral part of the learning process.
