Description
The influential model of giftedness developed and continuously updated by Franoys Gagn, the Differentiated Model of Giftedness and Talent (DMGT ), has particular application to students in the visual arts. This presentation will apply the principles of the most recent update, the DMGT2.0, to the area of developing talent in the visual arts and make specific recommendations to teachers and administrators. The DMGT2.0 provides particularly interesting insights into the conceptualization of artistic talents and into the process of developing natural abilities into talent, with practical applications to classroom practice for teachers and administrators.
