Description
Panel members Chip Donohue and Roberta Schomburg will discuss the recently revised NAEYC/Fred Rogers Center Joint Position Statement on Technology and Interactive Media as Tools in Early Childhood Programs Serving Children From Birth Through Age 8. The 2012 statement reflects the ever-changing digital age and provides guidance for early childhood educators about the use of technology and interactive media in ways that can optimize opportunities for young children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and linguistic development. Intentional and developmentally appropriate strategies for selecting, using, integrating, and evaluating technology tools and interactive media in programs and classrooms will be identified, described and demonstrated. They will share the guiding principles as well as concerns and cautions
