Description
Participants will come away from this session with a deeper understanding of the value of supporting children's math learning, whether it occurs during a planned math-focused small-group time or, spontaneously, during snack time or another part of the daily routine. They will gain a greater understanding of the importance of honoring children's ideas and intentions throughout the scaffolding process, while still meeting program and state content standards. In addition, short video clips, scenarios, and small-group discussions will provide a stimulating and supportive environment for the participants to generate their own ideas and strategies for incorporating scaffolding into the math learning in their classrooms and settings.
