Description
"Building relationships with faculty members is an employer best practice for the purpose of targeting students in particular disciplines, high academic achievers, and those with certain skill sets. However, many recruiters are unsure of how to identify and approach appropriate faculty and how to build relationships that improve recruitment results. Based on case studies and interviews with employers, faculty members, and career center directors, this session will provide participants with practical ideas and usable tools to enhance their campus relations programs by managing these important ""advocate relationships."" Participants will learn to set goals and agendas for meetings with key faculty and deans, and how to set up activities that go beyond meet-and-greet to truly enhance recruitment results. In addition, career centers' place in the employer's campus relations plan will be explored, with discussion of how employers can go beyond basic transactional relationships with career centers to those that are results-oriented.
