Description
In today's economy, global skills are no longer optional, but imperative. But what are they exactly and why do we need them? This interactive session will discuss and define global skills, as well as domestic and international opportunities to gain them. In a roundtable format, attendees will discuss with their colleagues not only the first level of global skills (language and cross-cultural competencies), but also a deeper level of said skills and how they translate into a successful career. Digging deeper, this session will also explore how students and their advisers can best present themselves to potential employers and how their international experiences make them an asset to any company. Finally, this session will address why hiring managers need to seek out those who have gained global skills through experiential education and identify the benefits to the hiring organization.
