Description
"After years of outsourcing LSU's Job Search Handbook and missing out on advertising profits and the opportunity to truly customize content, LSU career services decided to produce the 2009-10 book internally. The presenters will share how they started from scratch to structure sponsorship rates and guidelines and how they managed design and content development for a 24-page publication written entirely by the LSU career services team. Printing costs for LSU's 2009-10 Job Search Handbook were fully covered by ad revenue generated from the project, and the career center made a net profit of roughly $4,000. Suggestions will be given for maximizing human and financial resources when customizing a publication of this magnitude, and tips will be shared for how this project could be implemented on a campus of any size, regardless of the size of the career center staff or the publication budget.
