Description
The fight for funding in colleges and universities grows fiercer by the day. Career services offices struggle with finding alternative funding as their state and tuition dollars grow scarce. Companies, meanwhile, face mounting concerns over shrinking travel and recruiting budgets paired with increased funding requests from colleges and universities. How can career services offices compete effectively for the shrinking pool of corporate donations while companies seek to find the most worthy and fruitful recipients of their funding? This session will provide insights into one successful college/corporate partnership with concrete examples of how the University of Illinois and Whirlpool Corporation have built meaningful and effective relationships that benefit the college, employer, and students. How can colleges be targeted and effective in their proposals to corporations? How can companies get the best return on their investment during a time when budgets for charitable giving are scarce? Hear about specific partnership ideas that have been successful, learn what types of proposals fail, and walk away with concrete examples that you can apply to your organization
