Description
"Find out what employers really think of international education, and what to do about it. Survey results gathered from 1,200 employers will be highlighted, specifically, the need to reframe the conversation with students on how international experiences are seen by employers. Learning objectives will be achieved by presenting on the following topics: employer Survey overview; respondent demographics; comparison of results relevant to embedded “abroad” questions vs. other campus engagement initiatives and activities; and how students need to translate their experiences for employers. Using insights from this session, participants will gain tips to better advise students on the best ways to articulate their abroad experiences both in written materials, such as cover letters and resumes, and in person during interview situations. Suggestions on critical ways and times to partner with learning abroad centers on campus and developing workshops, print and web materials, and other resources useful to students will be highlighted to generate discussion and solicit from participants new ideas and best practices to tie learning abroad experiences to students' career aspirations.
