Dr. Stewart Wirebaugh is the Director of Pharmacy Services at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. In this role, Stewart is responsible for the overseeing and directing all aspects of the operations of the pharmacy department; including residents and student rotations.
In his previous professional roles, Stewart served in the United States Air Force and also held pharmacy management positions with the Methodist Healthcare System and the Heart and Vascular Institute of Texas in San Antonio.
Stewart earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Creighton and received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Illinois - Chicago. He also completed a one year pharmacy practice residency program at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and a two year clinical cardiology fellowship at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.He has published a number of articles in peer reviewed medical journals, presented programs for continuing education, received awards on local and state level, served as a board member of professional pharmacy organizations, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
