Ellena Anagnostis, MS, PharmD, BCPS is a Drug Information Specialist/Education Coordinator at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH) in Philadelphia, PA. She addresses drug information requests from healthcare providers within the health system, supports activities of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and several of its subcommittees, and assists the pharmacy department in managing drug shortages. She also enjoys serving as a preceptor for students and residents on rotation in the Drug Information Center. Additionally, Dr. Anagnostis coordinates the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) at TJUH for P3 pharmacy students. She helped develop semester-long IPPE experiences in hospital pharmacy operations and direct inpatient care for P2 and P3 students. Recently, Dr. Anagnostis was appointed an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Jefferson School of Pharmacy.
In addition, Dr. Anagnostis serves on the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) Pharmacy Research and Education Committee. Previously, she served on the UHC Pharmacy Practice Advancement Committee and participated in projects related to formulary management, Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies, and pharmacogenomics. Dr. Anagnostis is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency and PGY2 Drug Information residency at TJUH. Before graduating from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, she worked as a medical writer.
