Gajendra Gharia, RPH, MPH, is currently a Corporate Pharmacy Manager, with a focus in Strategic Planning, at NewYork-Presbyterian, the university hospital of Columbia University-College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medical College. With NYP since 2006, Mr. Gharia has overseen the implementation of large scale HIT projects including implementation of automated dispensing cabinets and barcoding at the point-of-care. In his role, Mr. Gharia liaises with all departments across the institutions network of hospitals.
Mr. Gharia has held various positions throughout his career including Research Scientist in Drug Delivery for Pfizer, Inc at its global research headquarters (Groton, CT); Staff Pharmacist at Walgreens, Inc (Connecticut); Pharmacy Manager at Stop-and-Shop Pharmacy (New Jersey); Market Research Consultant-Health Policy at PharmaStrat, Inc (New Jersey).
Mr. Gharia graduated with honors in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Rutgers University College of Pharmacy and a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University-Mailman School of Public Health in 2006, with a focus in Health Policy and Management. He is also an active student advisor in the Mailman School of Public Health.
