Eric S. Kastango is President of Clinical IQ LLC, a healthcare consulting firm with expertise in the area of USP Chapter <797>, aseptic processing (pharmacy and pharmaceutical based), medical device manufacturing, and the implementation of quality systems.
Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences and a MBA from the University of Phoenix. He has also completed 65 hours of training in nuclear pharmacy at Purdue University and 80 hours of didactic training for his Six Sigma-Green Belt certification that he started with BD Medical Systems. Since 1980, he has practiced pharmacy in a number of practice settings (including hospitals, community, and home care) in a number of different of roles, including the Corporate Vice President of Pharmacy Services for Coram. Eric has also managed a FDA-registered cGMP manufacturing operation for Baxter.
He is an active member and Fellow of the American Society of Healthcare Pharmacists and has served on the ASHPs Council of Education Affairs and serves on the 2010-2015 USP Council of Experts, Compounding Expert Committee. He is the chairman of the USP Chapter <797> subcommittee. Eric has over 150 invited national and international professional presentations on a variety of pharmacy practice topics such as sterile product preparation, pharmacy compounding errors, and quality systems.

Luci A. Power is an independent lecturer and consultant on pharmacy IV and hazardous drug systems. She was with the Department of Pharmaceutical Services at the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco for over 25 years serving in various capacities, including Senior Pharmacist and Manager of the Parenteral Support Services and Manager of the IV Additive Services where she was responsible for the in-patient chemotherapy and other hazardous drug compounding.
Luci has been a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) for over 25 years and is a primary author of both the 1985 and 1990 ASHP Technical Assistance Bulletins on Handling Cytotoxic and Hazardous Drugs; lead author of the 2006 ASHP Guidelines on Handling Hazardous Drugs; and first author of the ASHP Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs Video Training Program. Luci is also a contributing author to the Second and Third Editions of ASHPs Compounding Sterile Preparations.
Luci is an original member of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) working group on hazardous drugs. As the group leader for the Work Practices small group, she was an author of the 2004 NIOSH Alert: Preventing Occupational Exposures to Antineoplastics and Other Hazardous Drugs in Health Care Settings.
She has research interests in closed system transfer devices (CSTDs) and robots for the safe compounding of hazardous drugs. She serves on several advisory boards for new technology to improve both patient and worker safety. Luci is a frequent presenter in the area of safe handling of hazardous drugs.
