Brian Erstad,
PharmD, Professor,
University of Arizona College of Pharmacy
Brian L. Erstad, Pharm.D., FCCM is currently a tenured Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice & Science at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. He is also a Center Investigator for the Center for Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomics Research and a co-director for the Arizona Clinical and Translational Research Graduate Certificate Program. His clinical responsibilities are performed at University Medical Center where he is program director for the postgraduate year two (PGY2) critical care pharmacy residency. His research interests pertain to critical care medicine with an emphasis on patient safety and related outcomes’ research - he has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Erstad has served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and on numerous committees and task forces for other organizations including AHRQ, USP, Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians. He is currently a member of the FDA’s Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee and a steering committee member of the United States Critical Illness and Injury Trials (USCIIT) Group. Dr. Erstad was the first pharmacist to receive the Society of Critical Care Medicine Shubin-Weil Master Clinician/Teacher Excellence Award and the ASHP Foundation Preceptor Award. He has also received the Education and Clinical Practice Awards from ACCP and an Innovations in Teaching Award from AACP.

J. Russell May,

University of Georgia College of Pharmacy
J. Russell May, Pharm.D. is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. Prior to his move to academia full time in 2003, Dr. May was a drug information specialist and clinical manager in the Pharmacy Department at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) Health System for 22 years, including serving as Director of Pharmacy from 1998 2003. Since graduating from the University of Kentucky Pharm.D. and Hospital Residency Programs in 1981, Dr. May has focused his practice in the areas of drug information and drug policy development. He currently serves on the Residency Advisory Council for the PGY-1 and three PGY-2 (critical care, oncology, and pediatrics) programs at MCG (co-sponsored by the University of Georgia). In 2007, he was named Teacher of the Year at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and has served on the ASHP Executive Committee of the Section of Clinical Specialists and the Commission on Credentialing. He is a past president of the Georgia Society of Health System Pharmacists. Dr. May has served as a visiting professor at Misr International University in Cairo Egypt and assisted with the development of their Drug Information Center.

Michelle McCarthy,
PharmD, Director, Medication Use Policy,
University of Virginia Health System
Michelle McCarthy is the Director of Medication Use Policy and the residency program director for both the PGY1-Pharmacy residency and PGY2-Drug Information residency programs at the University of Virginia (UVa) Health System. She oversees the UVA Formulary, medication use evaluation program, regulatory, accreditation, drug information and investigational drug services, and policies and procedures. Additionally, she serves as the Secretary of the UVa Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) and Antimicrobial Utilization Committees and Chair of the Residency Oversight and Residency Advisory Committees.
Michelle McCarthy earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University and completed an ASHP-accredited Drug Information Practice Residency at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining the UVa, she was a faculty member at Samford University School of Pharmacy. Awards include 1997 Samford University School of Pharmacy Teacher of the Year, 2003 Virginia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (VSHP) Pharmacist of the Year, and 2008 Louis P. Jeffrey Preceptor of the Year. She has been the Education Committee Chair, Continuing Education Administrator, and President of VSHP. She is the 2012 Chair for the ASHP Commission on Credentialing. Other professional interests include immunizations, medical writing, and publishing.

Rony Zeenny,

Lebanese American University - School of Pharmacy
Rony Zeenny, Pharm.D. Dr. Zeenny is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Lebanese American University School of Pharmacy, Lebanon. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Lebanese American University. He completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University Of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, Tennessee. Dr. Zeenny served as the Director of Experiential Education at the School. He previously worked with the World Health Organization at the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health-Drug Dispensing Center. Dr. Zeenny has given a variety of poster and podium presentations on a local, national and international level. He is an active member of local and international professional societies including Lebanese Order of Pharmacists, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), American Clinical College of Pharmacy (ACCP), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). He has been heavily involved in pharmacy education, didactic and experiential, activities; Dr. Zeenny has served as the Chair of the Advisory Group on Pharmacy Practice Experiences Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners (ASHP).
