Joseph Hill,
MA, Director, Federal Legislative Affairs,
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
Joseph Hill currently serves as director of federal legislative affairs for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He advocates ASHPs positions on critical issues before members of Congress and their staff. Prior to that he was government affairs manager for the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists where he represented ASCP before state and federal legislators. Mr. Hill holds a Master of Arts degree in political science from the University of Tennessee and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Brian Meyer,
BA, MBA, Director, Government Affairs,
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
Brian Meyer is Director of the Government Affairs Division for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In this role, he provides leadership and strategic direction on ASHPs advocacy at the federal, state, and grassroots level.
This includes directing and coordinating ASHPs advocacy message before policymakers and the public as well as representing ASHPs members before Congress, executive branch agencies, state legislators and regulators.
Prior to joining ASHP, he served in various government affairs positions with the American Bankers Association. He earned his BA in Politics from Catholic University in Washington, DC and received his Executive MBA from Loyola University in Baltimore.

Karen Noonan,
MA, Director of State Affairs and Grassroots Advocacy,
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
Karen joined the ASHP Government Affairs Division as the Director of State Affairs and Grassroots Advocacy in November 2010. In this role, she develops strategic partnerships with ASHPs state affiliates in order to promote state legislative and regulatory activity that positively impacts health-system pharmacists and oppose those laws and rules that adversely impact the profession. In addition, she helps grow the ASHP political action committee in order to help elect Congressional candidates who understand -- and will be vocal champions for -- the unique and essential role of health-system pharmacists as the medication-use experts on healthcare delivery teams. Karen has an MA in political science, and she taught government courses at the University of Washington. Prior to joining ASHP, she was a Research Director in state legislative politics for 10 years.

Kasey Thompson,
PharmD, MS, Vice President, Office of Policy, Planning and Communications,
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
Dr. Kasey Thompson is Vice President of the Office of Policy, Planning and Communications at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) in Bethesda, Maryland. In this role he coordinates strategic planning and policy development for ASHP, and leads the Societys public relations, government relations, and practices standards development programs. He previously served as the Director of the ASHP Center on Patient Safety, and the Director of the ASHP Practice Standards and Quality Division.
Dr. Thompson has published numerous articles, editorials, and book chapters on medication-use safety and quality. He is co-editor along with Dr. Henri R. Manasse, Jr., of the 2005 book: Medication Safety: A Guide for Health Care Facilities. Dr. Thompson has given presentations nationally and internationally; has testified before the United States Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and before a variety of federal agencies; and has served on numerous advisory committees and governing boards for various public and private sector organizations.
Dr. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in cellular biology from Northeastern Oklahoma State University; and Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Oklahoma, College of Pharmacy. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Information Technology with specialization in informatics from the University of Maryland University College.

Christopher Topoleski,
BA, Director, Federal Regulatory Affairs,
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
Chris Topoleski is ASHPs Director of Federal Regulatory Affairs. In this role, Chris serves as the primary advocate and liaison on regulatory issues to all health-care related federal departments, agencies, and other key stakeholders. He positions ASHP as a credible, valued participant on medication use and pharmacy practice issues under consideration by relevant agencies, such as the FDA and CMS, and establishes and maintains liaison among pharmacy, health, and consumer/patient groups to identify regulatory issues of mutual interest and potential coordination.
Chris has over 17 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including Amgen, Incorporated as a Director in their Government Affairs Office, a Budget Analyst at the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and has done both health policy and economic consulting.
