Timothy Brown,
PharmD, BCACP, Director of Clinical Pharmacotherapy in Family Medicine,
Akron General Medical Center
Dr Brown is employed by Akron General Medical Centers Department of Pharmacy and acts as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist in the Family Medicine Residency Program. He received his doctorate from Campbell University School of Pharmacy with residency training at the Medical College of Virginia. His current practice is based within a Family Medicine residency program where he also acts as a preceptor for pharmacy and medical students from across the country and is a Professor at the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy. He received the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year Award multiple times from the Department of Family Medicine and was awarded the William C Kelly Safety Leadership Award by the Ohio Hospital Association. Recently he was one of the first pharmacists in the country to receive the new board certification in ambulatory care. Dr Brown also serves on the boards of the Ohio Patient Safety Institute and is currently the President of the BOD for Project Learn of Summit County. He has been active with the creation of the PPMI by attending the inaugural session and subsequent planning sessions for implementation of the model into Ambulatory Care Practice. Currently, he is the Ambulatory Care representative on the PPMI implementation committee and is working with other section leaders to educate ASHP members and program the Clinical Midyear Meeting in Las Vegas. Dr Brown is also the co-editor of the book, Building a Successful Ambulatory Care Practice: A Complete Guide for Pharmacists. In addition, Dr Brown is also a past president of OSHP and Chair of the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners.

John Clark,
PharmD, MS, Director of Pharmacy Services,
University of Michigan
Dr. John Clark teaches, practices, and researches in the area of pharmacy practice management and leadership. He is the Director of Pharmacy at University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers and Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. Additionally, he is the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Director. He is responsible for precepting pharmacy students and residents in Pharmacy Practice Management and Leadership. Dr. Clarks research interests include documentation and acceptance of pharmacists clinical interventions, pharmacy staffing models, Joint Commission readiness, patient safety, and the use of technology to improve patient care. Dr. Clark and colleagues were awarded a 2006 ASHP (American Society of Health-System Pharmacy) Best Practice Award for Successful Elimination of the Rule of Six in an Academic Childrens Hospital Through a Medication-Use-System Redesign and Standardization of Continuous Infusions. He provides his service for pharmacy residency accreditation surveys for ASHP and the ASHP Commission on Credentialing as well. The University of Michigan PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Training Program he leads was awarded the 2010 ASHP Pharmacy Residency Excellence Award.

Jennifer Edwards-Schultz is the PGY1 Residency Program Director and a Clinical Pharmacist with Bozeman Deaconess Health Services. Edwards-Schultz received her Pharm.D. from Creighton University and completed a pharmacy practice residency. She has worked in a variety of hospital practice sites including managed care, a tertiary care medical center, and currently a small community hospital. She has practiced both as a clinical pharmacist and in management, serving as Assistant Director of Pharmacy and Residency Director at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver, WA.
Edwards-Schultz has been an active member of ASHP currently serving as Immediate Past-Chair for the Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners. She has also served as a House of Delegates representative for Washington State and Montana, Chair of the Council on Educational Affairs, Chair of the Task Force for Pharmacys Changing Demographics, and ASHP Foundations Literature Awards Selection Panel reviewer. She also served on the Board of Directors for the WSPA.

Audrey Kennedy,
PharmD, BCPS, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Cardiology,
Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics
Dr. Kennedy is the Pediatric Cardiology Clinical Specialist at Childrens Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City, Missouri. She is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at both the University of Kansas and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Schools of Pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas. Her post-graduate training includes completion of a PGY1 residency at Childrens Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, followed by a PGY2 Specialty Residency in Pediatrics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, Texas. Current research interests include limiting antibiotic exposure in post-operative cardiac surgery patients and the utility of topical antifibrinolytics during pediatric cardiac surgery.

Kevin Marvin,

Kevin received the Distinguished Service Award from the Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology in 2008. He is the chair of the ASHP Membership Advisory Committee and Vermont delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates.
Kevin is a fellow of the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) where he is a member of the Patient Safety Steering Committee and ePrescribing Task Force. He has also served on JCAHO and AHRQ advisory groups on information technology.
Kevin contributed a chapter for a book on safe use of technology, titled Medication Safety: A Guide for Healthcare Facilities, which was published by ASHP. He also wrote a chapter for a book on ePrescribing for The Informatics Primer, another ASHP publication.
Kevin has been involved in Pharmacy Information systems for 25 years. His health system experience includes University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (9 years), Health Alliance of Cincinnati (4 years), and Fletcher Allen Healthcare, Burlington, Vermont (5 years). Kevin currently is an independent consultant and recently completed a project to install the Eclipsys medication management system at the NIH Clinical Center, Bethesda, Maryland.
Kevin is a Pharmacist and has a M.S. degree in Computer Science, both from the University of Wisconsin. His expertise is in the design, development and implementation of automation and information system tools to support safety, quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness in the medication use process.

Ashley Overy received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy in 2012. Currently, she is a PGY1 Administration Resident with the Cleveland Clinic.

Rita Shane,

Rita Shane, Pharm.D., FASHP, FCSHP is Director of Pharmacy Services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a 950 bed acute, tertiary care, teaching institution in Los Angeles and Assistant Dean, Clinical Pharmacy Services, at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Pharmacy. Dr. Shane is the 2012 recipient of the Harvey A.K. Whitney Award, 2007 California Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, Pharmacist of the Year and the ASHP Distinguished Service Award, Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers. She was the 2005 recipient of the ASHP Distinguished Leadership Award and the 1995 recipient of the John Webb Professorship in Hospital Pharmacy on management excellence. Dr. Shane is a co-investigator of 2 research studies to demonstrate the safety and value of allowing technicians to check technician filled medication cassettes in hospitals which led to the approval of tech check tech in California. She is the author of one of the ASHP Practice Model Summit papers and served as the U.S. facilitator and author of an international paper on medication administration at the Global Conference on the Future of Hospital Pharmacy. Dr. Shane was also a co-investigators of a multicenter study to evaluate medications errors recovered by emergency department pharmacists. She is currently the ASHP representative to The Joint Commission Hospital Professional Technical Committee. She has presented at local, state, national and international meetings and has published over 80 papers.
