Scott M. Mark is a Corporate Vice President at the West Penn Allegheny Health System in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. In addition, he serves as Chair of the Board of the Nightingale Nursing Registry. Prior to this, he was the Director of Pharmacy at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Vice Chair of Pharmacy Systems and an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, and the Director of the University of Pittsburgh Pharmacy Practice Management Residency Program. He holds a B.A. (University of Western Ontario), B.S. Pharmacy (Ferris State), Doctor of Pharmacy (Kentucky), MS Management (Ohio State), MEd (Illinois), MBA (London), MPH (Pittsburgh). He completed his residency in pharmacy administration at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He is Board Certified and a Fellow of ACHE, and a Fellow of ASHP, and the Advisory Board Company.
His current focus is on medication use, operations and supply chain, information technology, meaningful use, accountable care, and revenue cycle. Previously, his operational focus had been on developing inpatient and outpatient clinical practice sites along with new and collaborative interdisciplinary integrated practice models and integrating automation into practice. He has served in a variety of leadership capacities including two terms as president in the DC, and is the president in PA. He has received awards for education, leadership, mentoring, and professional service.
Dr. Mark lectures and regularly presents at professional meetings, having given more than 120 presentations at state and national meetings. In addition, he has published over 70 manuscripts and book chapters and is the Co-Editor of a monthly national column on practice issues.
