Michael Burton,
PharmD, Professor,
The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy
Michael E. Burton received a bachelor of science in pharmacy in 1975 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a doctor of pharmacy from the graduate colleges of The University of Texas at Austin/The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio in 1980 with the award of a specialty residency in adult medicine. He served on the faculty of The University of Texas at Austin from 1980 through 1990 with promotion to Clinical Associate Professor in 1989. He was a clinical pharmacist at Methodist Medical Center (1980-82) and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (1982-90) in Dallas, TX. He joined the University of Oklahoma, College in Pharmacy in 1990 as an Associate Professor with tenure awarded in 1994, was promoted to Professor in 2001, was appointed as interim chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice in 1997, and appointed chair from 1999 until 2012. He has a number of highly cited publications in the area of drug pharmacokinetics, and he was the lead editor of Applied Pharmacokinetics & Pharmacodynamics: Principles of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring 4th Edition. He was actively involved in three submissions of the campus Clinical and Translational Science Award to NIH. He is a voting member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, credentialed as a clinical pharmacist at OU Medical Center, and practices as an adult medicine clinical pharmacy specialist.

Joseph DiPiro,
PharmD, Executive Dean,
Medical University of South Carolina
Dr. Joseph T. DiPiro is Executive Dean of the South Carolina College of Pharmacy, which is part of the University of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina. He received his BS in pharmacy from the University of Connecticut and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky. He served a residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and a fellowship in Clinical Immunology at Johns Hopkins University. Before coming to South Carolina, Dr. DiPiro was a faculty member at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and the Medical College of Georgia for 24 years. Dr. DiPiro is also adjunct professor of pharmacy practice and clinical pharmacy at Misr International University, Cairo.
Dr. DiPiro has published 200 journal papers, books, book chapters, and editorials in academic and professional journals, mainly related to antibiotics, drug use in surgery, and pharmacy education. His papers have appeared in Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, Pharmacotherapy, Critical Care Medicine, JAMA, Annals of Surgery, Archives of Surgery, American Journal of Surgery, Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, and Surgical Infections. He is the Editor of The American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. He is the senior editor for Pharmacotherapy: A Pathophysiologic Approach, now in its 8th edition. He is also the author of Concepts in Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Editor of the Encyclopedia of Clinical Pharmacy.
He is Chair-elect of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Council of Deans. He served as President of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. He is a Fellow of the College and has served on the Research Institute Board of Trustees. He has been a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, having served on the Commission on Therapeutics and the Task Force on Science. In 2002, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy selected Dr. DiPiro for the Robert K. Chalmers Distinguished Educator Award. He has also received the Russell R. Miller Literature Award and the Education Award from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the Award for Sustained Contributions to the Literature from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

Michelle Hilaire,
PharmD, BCPS, Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice,
University of Wyoming
Michelle Hilaire received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University. She then completed a community pharmacy residency at the University of Toledo and a primary care specialty residency at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Hilaire's practice site is the Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency Program in Fort Collins, Colorado. Her clinical and research interest areas include diabetes, women's health, anticoagulation, and pharmacist involvement in the Patient Centered Medical Home. She is a certified diabetes educator (CDE) and a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS). Dr. Hilaire coordinates and teaches Physical Assessment, as well as team teaching in Pharmacokinetics and the Therapeutics Series. She offers Ambulatory Care, Academic and Pre-Residency Rotations. She also serves as the Ambulatory Care preceptor for a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Poudre Valley Hospital.

Terry Schwinghammer,

West Virginia University School of Pharmacy
Dr. Terry L. Schwinghammer is Professor and Chair, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. He received BS and PharmD degrees from Purdue University and completed a pharmacy residency at Indiana University Hospitals. He is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and is a past recipient of the APhA-APPM Distinguished Achievement Award in Clinical/Pharmacotherapeutic Practice. In 2006, he was named a Distinguished Practitioner in the National Academies of Practice. In addition to authoring over 60 publications, he is co-editor of the Pharmacotherapy Casebook, Pharmacotherapy Handbook, and Pharmacotherapy Principles & Practice. He serves as Senior Contributing Editor, Therapeutics, for The American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy. Dr. Schwinghammer is a past president of the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists and was named PSHP Pharmacist of the Year in 2001. He received the Sister M. Gonzales Lecture Award from PSHP in 2007. He has served AACP as Chair of the Pharmacy Practice Section, Chair of the Council of Faculties, and member of the Board of Directors. He served six years on the Board of Pharmacy Specialties and was Chair in 2009. He is a Fellow of ASHP, ACCP, and APhA and has been elected to membership in the Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society and the Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society. He was named a Distinguished Alumnus of Purdue University in 2004.
