Claire Anderson,
PhD, Professor of Social Pharmacy,
University of Nottingham
Claire Wynn Anderson, PhD, BPharm, FRPharmS, MCPP.
I am Professor of Social Pharmacy in the Division of Social Research in Medicines and Health at the School of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham. My major research interests are the role of community pharmacists in improving the health of the public, peoples perceptions about using medicines , and pharmacy education. I have published over 100 refereed papers. Perhaps the most important piece of research I have produced is the strategic research for the Department of Health in England, investigating the broader public health role of pharmacists, this was used to inform government policy. I was a member of a research group awarded the Department of Health Policy Unit contract to evaluate supplementary prescribing by nurses and pharmacists and was in another research group undertaking a National Institute of Health Research funded study researching patients reporting of adverse drug reactions. I am International Editor of the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. I am a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Education Advisory Board and Public Health Advisory Committee. I am a past president of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) Academic section. I am the lead for academic workforce and capacity for the WHO UNESCO FIP Pharmacy Education Taskforce.
