Debra Goff,
PharmD, FCCP, Clinical Associate Professor, Infectious Disease Specialist,
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
Dr. Goff, is an Infectious Disease Specialist at The Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC) in Columbus, Ohio. She is an Associate Professor at the College of Pharmacy. She received her bachelor of pharmacy degree, Doctor of Pharmacy degree, and residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
She is actively involved in the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. She developed a medical app called STAB-IT (Staph aureus bacteremia - is terrible) to help educate clinicians at OSUMC. Dr. Goff provides workshops for Apple on Medical apps for Healthcare Professionals: Using the iPad to Educate. She is a faculty member of the ASHP National Antimicrobial Stewardship mentoring program which provides on-site mentoring. She is the International Advisor to the South African Antibiotic Stewardship Program, partnering with public and private stakeholders to achieve best practice. Dr Goff brings her expertise to the problem of rolling out stewardship to all sectors of healthcare in S. Africa.
She has received numerous research grants, lectures both nationally and internationally. And has several publications. Her research interest includes antimicrobial resistance, clinical outcomes research, and innovative ways to educate using technology. She is an active member of IDSA, ACCP, ASM, SIDP, and a board member of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) and Making a Difference Infectious Diseases (MAD-ID). When she is not working, she can be found doing triathlons and photography.
