Rebekah Hanson, PharmD, BCPS, graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Pharmacy. She did her residency training and also worked at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center as a clinical pharmacist until 2009 when she took a position with a major specialty pharmacy as the clinical supervisor of the pulmonary arterial hypertension program. She was recently invited to speak on The Pharmacist's Role in Home Infusions at the Infusion Nurses Society Annual Meeting in Las Vegas in May 2012. Rebekah is currently working as a clinical liaison pharmacist for Specialty Pharmacy Services at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System. She is also clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. Her major responsibilities include establishing and implementing case management systems, specialty clinic based education, training, and safety monitoring, teaching at the college of pharmacy, and research related to specialty pharmacy services. She recently co-authored an article on the treatment and management of Hepatitis C as part of a new series on specialty pharmacy clinical topics for Specialty Pharmacy Continuum. Her second co-authored article in the series will be published in the summer 2012 edition.

Nehrin Khamo,

Nehrin Khamo received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from North Park University, and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Illinois, College of Pharmacy. Currently, she is a clinical staff pharmacist at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System, and Clinical Instructor at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy.
In 2007, Nehrin established the hybrid pharmacy practice model for specialty pharmacy in the Gastrointestinal/Crohn's Disease clinic, in which prescription orders are 'captured' by the health system outpatient pharmacy. Since then, the Anti-TNF category represents over $2 million in additional revenue to the outpatient pharmacies. She has been involved in establishing similar models in the Rheumatology and Multiple Sclerosis clinics. She has been invited to give a series of webinars to 340B health systems on the development of the pharmacist practice model for specialty pharmacy. Nehrin has also given presentation the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy student members regarding the prior authorization process. Nehrin has been involved in establishing Clinical Care Guidelines for Anti TNF medications at the UI Health and has been working closely with clinicians to implement the guidelines.

JoAnn Stubbings is Assistant Director, Specialty Pharmacy Services in the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy and is Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and the Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy. She received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Ohio State University and a Masters in Health Care Administration from the University of Mississippi with a specialization in pharmaceutical marketing. Her career spanned various positions in industry, consulting, academia, and health system pharmacy. She is currently Chair of the Specialty Pharmacy Task Force at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System, which oversees more than $24 million in outpatient take-home specialty medication revenue per year. She is responsible for strategic direction, business planning, management, and analytics for Specialty Pharmacy Services. Under her direction, the Specialty Pharmacy Call Center was established. Professor Stubbings teaches and mentors pharmacists and pharmacy students. Her research and practice interests include specialty pharmacy, health care reform, Medicare Part D, Medicaid payment policies, 340B program, and Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies. She has co-authored a book on business planning for pharmacy services. Professor Stubbings speaks frequently and has published numerous articles on specialty pharmacy, Medicare Part D, specialty pharmacy services, and risk evaluation and mitigation strategies.

Brad Trom,

Brad Trom, CEO of Lovelace Retail Pharmacy, a division of Lovelace Health Systems in New Mexico, is a Healthcare Operations executive with 35 years of experience in managing multi-state, multi- billion dollar organizations with pharmaceutical healthcare and clinical services expertise. Brad received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from North Dakota State University and a Masters in Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
Under his leadership, Lovelace Pharmacy opened a Specialty Pharmacy in 2009, immediately demonstrating increased patient satisfaction scores and better medication adherence among members of the Lovelace Health Plan. Additionally, he has collaborated closely with medical officers to implement new outpatient discharge procedures focusing on better patient care, lowering readmission rates, increasing patient satisfaction, resulting in better patient outcomes.
Brad currently serves as a board member for the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center and the New Mexico Medical Review Association. He is also a member of School of Pharmacy Advisory Boards at the University of Southern California, North Dakota State University, Western University of Health Sciences and the University of California, San Francisco, Pharmacy Leadership Institute.

LEARNER OUTCOMES:
- Describe the role of specialty pharmacy in health system quality indicators.
- Design the clinical and operation elements of a specialty pharmacy practice model.
