Edith Nutescu,
PharmD, FCCP, Clinical Professor,
University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Pharmacy
Edith A. Nutescu, Pharm.D., FCCP, is Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Pharmacy Administration, and Center for Pharmacoeconomic Research at University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. Dr. Nutescu maintains an active clinical practice and research program. Her research and practice interests are in the areas of comparative effectiveness, health services and outcomes, with emphasis in cardiovascular diseases, stroke, thrombosis, and antithrombotic therapies. Dr Nutescu has authored over 100 scientific articles and book chapters, and has served as a reviewer for the literature in her field. Dr. Nutescus research has been funded by the Department of Health and Human Services and the National Center for Research Resources and is a recipient of the Ruth L. Kirchstein National Research Service Award for 2009-2012. She serves on the Editorial Boards for Pharmacotherapy, Annals of Pharmacotherapy and Thrombosis, and has served on the editorial board for the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy. Dr. Nutescu is active in several professional organizations including currently serving on the Board of Regents for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Dr. Nutescu has been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and is the recipient of the American College of Clinical Pharmacys 2009 Clinical Practice Award and the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, Section of Home and Ambulatory Care Practitioners 2010 Distinguished Service Award.

Maureen Smythe,
PharmD, FCCP, Professor (Clinical), Pharmacy Practice,
Wayne State University
Dr. Smythe is a professor of pharmacy practice at the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, United States, and holds a cross appointment as coordinator of student and resident education with the Department of Pharmaceutical Services at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. She received a BS in pharmacy and her PharmD from Wayne State, and subsequently completed a fellowship in critical care at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Smythe has established a practice-based research program in the area of inpatient anticoagulation. She has presented numerous papers nationally and internationally on the subject, and has authored more than 100 abstracts and papers. She serves as a reviewer for such journals as Critical Care Medicine and Pharmacotherapy, and sits on the editorial board of the anticoagulation section for the Annals of Pharmacotherapy.

Lynda Thomson,
PharmD, CACP, Advance Practice Pharmacist, Anticoagulation,
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
Lynda Thomson is an Advanced Practice Pharmacist in Antithrombotic Management for the Jefferson Antithrombotic Therapy Service, in the Jefferson Vascular Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Lynda received both her B.S. and Pharm.D. degrees from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Sciences at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP). She completed a residency in Pharmacokinetics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and has worked in the areas of anticoagulation management, internal medicine and infectious diseases. She is a board certified anticoagulation provider, a licensed immunizing pharmacist and has completed traineeships in phlebotomy, anticoagulation, hyperlipidemia and diabetes management. She precepts anticoagulation and general medicine experiences for pharmacy students at the Jefferson School of Pharmacy and USP and has served as a faculty preceptor for the ASHP Foundations Antithrombotic Traineeship program for pharmacists.
