Nicole Acquisto,
PharmD, BCPS, Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist,
University of Rochester Medical Center
Dr. Nicole M. Acquisto received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She completed an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency at Kaleida Health in Buffalo, NY and an ASHP-accredited Emergency Medicine/Critical Care Specialty Residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Acquisto works as the Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the University of Rochester Medical Center. In addition to daily clinical practice responsibilities, Dr. Acquisto manages an ED Antimicrobial Stewardship program and is actively involved in the education of the pharmacy and medical students and residents as well as the pre-hospital providers and nursing staff. She participates in emergency department and hospital-wide simulation efforts, is a member of the institution's Trauma Council, Adult and Pediatric Resuscitation Committees, and the Rochester Emergency Medical Advisory Committees Pharmacy and Protocol subcommittees. She has been the recipient of three ASHP grant awards, the ASHP Foundation Resident Practice-Based Research Grant in 2008 as a resident and as the principal investigator in 2009, as well as the ASHP Foundation Hospital Pharmacist-Emergency Physician Collaborations Research Grant in 2009. Dr. Acquisto has research and therapeutics publications, is the recipient of an ASHP Best Practices Award in Health-System Pharmacy, is the current Chair-Elect of the ACCP Emergency Medicine PRN, and is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

Nadia Awad,
PharmD, PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Resident,
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital
Dr. Nadia Awad obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers College in 2007, and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University in 2011. After graduation, she completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. During her residency, she developed a strong interest in emergency medicine and is currently completing a PGY-2 Specialty Residency in Emergency Medicine at Rutgers University and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Following the completion of her residency, Dr. Awad plans to pursue a position as a clinical specialist in emergency medicine at an academic medical institution where she will have the opportunity to provide pharmaceutical care to her patients as well as precept and mentor pharmacy students and residents.

Kimberly Glasoe,

Mercy Hospital - Allina Health
Kim Glasoe obtained a BS in Psychology from North Dakota State University in 1997 and her PharmD from the University of Minnesota in 2002. After graduation she was employed at Hennepin County Medical Center having opportunities to work in both family practice & internal medicine clinics and outpatient pharmacy settings. With a move to Wheatridge, Colorado, Kim was hired as a staff pharmacist at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center with primary staffing in the emergency department. She has been employed at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN which is part of the Allina Health System since 2006. In 2007 Kim helped establish the dedicated emergency medicine pharmacist service at Mercy. In 2009 she helped create a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) with Mercy Hospitals emergency medicine physician group, EPPA, to manage discharged patients abnormal lab and cultures. She presented a poster at ASHP Midyear 2011 in New Orleans on the CPA and data from the first year of implementation. Kim maintains ACLS and PALS certifications and is a PALS instructor for Allina Health education services. In 2010 she elected to have a five-week emergency medicine rotation with the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy and in 2011 Kim was awarded Preceptor of the Year. Mercy has had an ASHP accredited residency program since 2004 and in 2011 the emergency medicine rotation became a required rotation.

Leah Hatfield,

After obtaining her PharmD degree at Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2004, Dr. Hatfield started her career as an active duty pharmacist in the United States Navy, stationed at Naval Medical Center San Diego. While there, she completed a pharmacy practice residency with a focus in adult and pediatric critical care and became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. She relocated to Atlanta in August of 2007, and continued her practice as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Specialist at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta and Grady Health System. She also served on faculty at Mercer University and Emory School of Medicine. Dr. Hatfield joined the staff at UNC in 2012, and is currently working to establish Emergency Medicine pharmacy services there. She holds a faculty appointment at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and serves as a PGY2 Residency Program Director.

Daniel Hays,

Dr. Hays is a recognized leader in the field of Emergency Pharmacy. He has implemented two highly successful Emergency Pharmacy programs as well as two successful PGY-2 training programs for cultivating future Emergency Pharmacists. Dr. Hays is currently on the faculty at the University of Arizona schools of Medicine and Pharmacy. He has served on the Educational Steering Committee of ASHPs Clinical Scientists and Specialists and as previous chair for the SAG of Emergency Care. Dr. Hays has written numerous chapters for text books in both pharmacy and emergency medicine practice related to the dynamics of Emergency Pharmacy.

DARREL HUGHES IS THE CLINICAL SPECIALIST IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE AT UNIVERSITY HEALTH SYSTEM IN SAN ANTONIO, WHERE HE ALSO SERVES AS RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTOR FOR PGY-2 EMERGENCY MEDICINE RESIDENCY AND RESIDENCY RESEARCH COORDINATOR. HE RECEIVED HIS PHARM.D. DEGREE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN COLLEGE OF PHARMACY AND COMPLETED A PGY-1 PHARMACY PRACTICE RESIDENCY AT UNIVERSITY HEALTH SYSTEM. HE IS A BOARD CERTIFIED PHARMACOTHERAPY SPECIALISTS, AND CERTIFIED IN ADVANCED TRAUMA LIFE SUPPORT, ADVANCE CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT AND AHA BASIC LIFE SUPPORT.
HE IS ALSO CURRENTLY SERVING AS AN ADJUNCT ASSISTANT PROFESSOR FOR THE UT COLLEGE OF PHARMACY AND FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER SAN ANTONIO PHARMACOTHERAPY EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CENTER.
HE HAS NEARLY A HALF DOZEN PUBLICATIONS TO HIS CREDIT AND HAS AUTHORED OR CO-AUTHORED 2 BOOK CHAPTERS.
HE IS A MEMBER OF THE SOCIETY OF ACADEMIC EMERGENCY MEDICINE, CENTRAL TEXAS SOCIETY OF HEALTH SYSTEM PHARMACIST, TEXAS SOCIETY OF HEALTH SYSTEM PHARMACISTS, AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HEALTH SYSTEM PHARMACISTS AND AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CLINICAL PHARMACISTS.
EARLIER THIS YEAR HE RECEIVED THE PHARMACY PRACTICE RESIDENCY PRECEPTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD AS WELL AS THE 7TH ANNUAL LOUIS C. LITTLEFIELD CELEBRATING PHARMACY RESEARCH RESIDENCY/POST DOCTORAL PROGRAM SCIENTIFIC ABSTRACT AWARD, WHICH HE HAS RECEIVED TWICE PREVIOUSLY.

Alison Jennett Reznek,

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
Alison Jennett Reznek is an assistant professor at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and a clinical specialist in emergency medicine providing clinical services at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA. Alison has practiced in the area of emergency medicine for eight years and during this time has served as a clinical pharmacist, a coordinator of emergency pharmacy services in a level one trauma center and a PGY2 emergency medicine residency director. She has worked closely with ASHP and the Section Advisory Group on Emergency Care to develop educational resources and guidelines to assist with the development of new and current emergency medicine pharmacy services. Alison currently provides training opportunities in emergency medicine for pharmacy students and serves as a preceptor for the medication safety fellow at Saint Vincent Hospital. In her current clinical practice site, Alison routinely works in collaboration with other healthcare providers to provide consultation regarding appropriate pharmacotherapy for patients in the emergency department as well as development of best practice guidelines to improve medication and patient safety. Finally, Alison is currently serving as the chair of the ASHP Section Advisory Group on Emergency Care.

Lauren King,

Lauren King, Pharm.D. graduated from Duquesne University in May 2011. She completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Allegheny General Hospital, located in Pittsburgh, PA. Upon completion of her PGY-2 Emergency Medicine residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. King will seek employment at an academic medical center.

Shannon Manzi,

Shannon is currently the Director of the Clinical Pharmacogenomics Service at Childrens Hospital Boston. She is also the team leader for Emergency and Combined Services in the Department of Pharmacy. She graduated from the University of Rhode Islands PharmD program in 1996. She has practiced pediatric pharmacy for over 15 years, and pediatric emergency pharmacy for 10 years. She has served as a pediatric expert for the review of Strategic National Stockpile contents and actively participates in the Massachusetts SNS working group. She served as a consultant for the National Advisory Committee on Children and Terrorism, CDC and as a consultant for the Health Alert Network (HHAN), MADPH. She is actively working with EMS-C and the Artemis Project to improve pediatric safety in EMS and the Emergency Department.
Shannon is also the Chief Pharmacist for the MA 1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team and has deployed multiple times, including responses Hurricane Katrina and the earthquake in Haiti. She holds clinical adjunct faculty positions at Northeastern University, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, and the University of Connecticut. She has published several articles on pediatric emergency medicine topics and co-authored two reviews of pediatric disaster medicine post-Hurricane Katrina. Shannon has contributed to several textbooks and served as co-editor for Pediatric Signs and Symptoms (Lippincott 2005).

Megan Musselman, Pharm.D., BCPS, is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Emergency Medicine and Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit at The University of Kansas.
A graduate of Creighton University, Dr. Musselman completed an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Practice residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a PGY2 Residency in Emergency Medicine at Detroit Receiving Hospital. She also serves on the ASHP Section Advisory Group on Emergency Care.

Renee Petzel Gimbar,

Renee Petzel, Pharm.D. started her career as faculty at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, developing clinical services in the emergency department at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She then started and maintained services as the Emergency Medicine/Medical Toxicology Clinical Pharmacist at Loyola University Medical Center and served on many emergency medical services, disaster medicine and medical center committees. Dr. Petzel is currently the director of the PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency, clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy and the Emergency Medicine/Medical Toxicology Clinical Pharmacist at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Science System.
She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2004. Dr. Petzel completed a PGY-1 General Practice Residency at the UIC Medical Center in Chicago and a PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Specialty Residency at Rutgers University/ Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Dr. Petzels interest areas include toxicology, emergency medicine and critical care. Dr. Petzel was the previous chair of the ASHP Section of Clinical Specialists Advisory Group on Emergency Care.

Heather Schumann,

Dr. Schumann is an Associate Professor at the California Northstate University College of Pharmacy. She has several years of didactic teaching and clinical precepting experience.
Dr. Schumanns areas of interest include emergency medicine, trauma, toxicology, and cardiology. She looks forward to practicing in the emergency department again and eventually establishing a PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency program.

Pamela Walker,

Pamela Walker (Lada) Pharm.D., BCPS is a graduate of Wayne State University and has completed residencies at University of Kentucky and Detroit Receiving Hospital (Emergency Medicine). Currently, she is the Clinical Coordinator for Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Services at The University of Michigan Health System where she has helped with the implementation of 24/7 ED pharmacy services with two dedicated satellites for Adult ED and Pediatric ED patients. She is involved in the staff development of ED pharmacists, EM pharmacy specific intraweb page, and is currently engaged in evaluating the value and impact of ED pharmacy services. Pam also is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy.
Her areas of interests include the development of EM pharmacy practitioners and related service models, rapid sequence intubation, traumatic brain injuries, status epilepticus, toxicology, early goal directed therapy, wilderness medicine and advanced cardiac life support. She has published in peer reviewed journals. She is also actively involved in professional organizations, including ASHP and ACCP where she is the Past Chair for the Emergency Medicine PRN.

Joanne Witsil,

Dr. Witsil first completed her Nursing degree at St. Boniface School of Nursing in Winnipeg, Canada. She went on to complete her Doctorate degree in Pharmacy at the State University of New York at Buffalo. From there, she continued on to complete a Pharmacy Practice Residency with an emphasis in Critical Care at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center. Dr.Witsil is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist in the area of Clinical Pharmacy. Her current practice site since 2007 which she developed is in the Department of Emergency Medicine at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Dr. Witsil holds the title of Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. Dr. Witsil is a member of the Stroger Hospital Emergency Preparedness and Resuscitation Committees. She also serves as a member on the following Chicagoland area committees: Toxikon Consortium, MCHC Bioterrorism Preparedness and the Emergency Medical System. Her current areas of interest include disaster planning, toxicology, resuscitation and education.
