Description
The speakers will provide a two-year retrospective on their popular article published in the March 2011 issue of Health Facilities Management magazine, which explored 10 forces changing health care design. The opening statement of the article provocatively observed that “health care industry professionals who believe the political outcome of the reform debate, alone, will have a dramatic influence on the future of design and construction of health care facilities are sadly mistaken.” The presenters will discuss the evolution of the factors identified in the article and how they, and other challenges and opportunities, will continue to influence health care design. The session will enable you to:
Describe the range of issues shaping health care in the United States that affect health care facility design and construction.
Discuss the specific trends underlying key health care industry issues and their implications for health care design and construction.
Identify challenges and opportunities that will face your health care organization in the next few years.
Identify strategies for using health care industry trends to benefit your organization.
