As Director of Corporate Facilities for Orlando Health, Don is responsible for the operational development and management of physical infrastructure, buildings, and properties encompassing over 7 million square feet. Principal duties include capital renewal and replacement, operational oversight, strategic planning and regulatory compliance. He oversees the Facilities departments comprising 170 staff members including management staffing of the engineering departments, landscaping, supporting staff and engineers.
Dons experience in over 30 years of professional practice includes responsibility in all aspects of facility operation and management supporting R&D, Manufacturing and Healthcare. Having worked both as an engineer and an owner, he has experience in systems operation, functional and technical elements of planning, design and construction.
Don is both a graduate of Nova Southeastern University with an undergraduate degree in Business Management and is currently pursuing his MBA in Leadership at NSU. He is a LEED Accredited Professional leading Orlando Health in the design and implementation of their first LEED certified building on their downtown Orlando campus. Additionally, he is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager, and Certified Plant Maintenance Manager.

In 2012 Orlando Health worked with Phigenics to implement a comprehensive water management program across its nine health care facilities. The program was designed to comply with draft ASHRAE Standard 188P: Prevention of Legionellosis Associated with Building Water Systems, Joint Commission standards, OSHA reqirements, and World Health Organization guidelines. This successful case study provides a comprehensive summary of the program and will enable you to:
Implement a water management program that complies with applicable health care standards.
Form a water management team to maintain the program that includes voting members from all relevant departments.
Identify how water and risk management data are managed using a secure cloud service and summarize key findings and benefits.
