Description
While there are currently about 100 hospitals in the United States with hybrid capability, that number is expected to increase by 15 percent each year for the next decade. This session examines the development of the hybrid OR concept, supporting technology advancements, and the challenges to planning, design, and construction. This session will enable attendees to:
Analyze medical technology development leading to the merging of imaging with surgery.
Assess the design challenges presented by hybrid operating rooms including space requirements for these specialized rooms, and the supporting control and equipment rooms.
Evaluate strategies for accommodating and managing technology change during construction.
Discuss the processes that have been successful in managing planning, design, and construction of multi-technology integrations.
