Project Management : Implementation
Description
Laboratory information systems managers ensure accurate and complete capture of patients laboratory data. This responsibility entails concurrently managing and updating existing systems and interfaces, while preparing for and validating new installations. To successfully complete multiple projects, the project manager identifies and quantifies constraints of scope, time, quality and budget. At the end of the day, is it acceptable to miss major milestones because adequate preparation has not been given to the plan? Has the scope of each project, along with major milestones, been created? Have critical paths been evaluated? Are project stakeholders identified and defined? Has risk been evaluated if benchmarks are not met? Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, securing and managing resources to successfully achieve specific goals. A small group activity will be used to practice some structures of project management.
-
Develop a projects management plan with scope and major milestones.
-
Evaluate critical paths and assess if risk if benchmarks are not met.
-
Sketch a project lifecycle, and identify and quantify constraints of scope, time, quality and budget.
