Quarantine Release Errors in the Transfusion Service
Description
The first part of the session will be a short presentation and discussion of relevant topics to the manager/supervisor of a hospital blood bank. One speaker will describe how platelet additive solution platelets are prepared and the advantages of their use in transfusion. Another speaker will focus on tracking of equipment―what are the requirements and what level of detail is needed? The final speaker will focus on quarantine and release of blood products from the hospital perspective. The second half of the session is devoted to questions with using automatic audience response system and discussion from the floor. Many interesting conversations develop as a result of this open forum.
